bullThe beef at the meat counter was a little fresher than usual for shoppers at an Irish supermarket last week as a bull escaped from a nearby cattle market and rampaged through the store.

CCTV footage of the incident showed the bull come in through the automatic doors and charge down an aisle before turning around and galloping out again after being confronted by a red-aproned shop worker armed with a shopping trolley.

“He came in the front door, straight into the store, turned around, had a good look and went straight back out again. I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said Supervalu supervisor John Cummins.

The bull then chased a farmer, who had just arrived to look for the animal, back down the aisle and out of the supermarket.

“It scared the daylights out of everyone,” said Supervalu employee Bernie Morrin.
