Elderly woman dies after collision with zebra
An elderly woman died shortly after colliding with a zebra while on safari in Kenya, a coroner investigating the case said Wednesday.
Eileen Whale, a 77-year-old from Ipswich, was holidaying in the East African country late last year when the incident occurred. She died in an Ipswich hospital several weeks later, coroner Peter Dean said.
Dean said the cause of death given when the inquiry was opened was pancreatitis but doctors will try to establish any links between the injuries caused by the collision and her death.
Dean adjourned the hearing, saying further inquiries were needed.
