Hundreds of guinea pigs killed in breeding farm blaze
Police have launched an investigation into the death of more than 1,000 guinea pigs, rabbits and rats at a pet breeding centre in southwest England.
Four barns at Little Cholwell farm in Devon caught fire in the early hours of Tuesday morning but police haven’t been able to establish yet whether the fire was deliberate or not, they said.
“Several fire appliances attended the fire. Unfortunately the fire service were unable to extinguish the fire resulting in all the animals being lost,” the police said in a statement.
The police ask anyone with information about the fire to call 08452 777444 quoting log number 40 130410.
