rabbit.smallA Cornish man with the ability to put rabbits into a trance claims his methods offer the perfect therapy for stressed out bunnies.

Cliff Penrose, who has 50 rabbits and has bred the animals for 30 years, has retired from his day job and is now employed voluntarily by local vets to prepare rabbits for surgery. Penrose, 60, also mans a “hopline” and offers his services to pet owners with badly behaved bunnies.

Penrose, known as the “Rabbit Whisperer”, emits a high-pitched squeak to get the animal’s attention and then massages it, lowers his head and closes his eyes. Images of the rabbits showed them lying on their backs with their paws in the air. Penrose claims they stay in a trance for up to 10 minutes.

“You can tell when a rabbit is under because his back legs completely relax,” he told the Daily Mail. “The creature is unable to move. They emerge from a trance a happier, more relaxed pet.”
